Award: KZO Government to Team with Lockheed Martin for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s $176M Learning Management Services (LMS) contract.
Herndon, Virginia, August 18, 2006 - KZO Government announced today that it is partnering with technology giant Lockheed Martin to bring innovative and transformational training approaches and technologies to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s College (NGC). The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) is a Department of Defense combat support agency and a member of the National Intelligence Community. NGA is charged with providing timely, relevant and accurate geospatial information in support of national security. The NGA College provides a range of technical and professional development training to approximately 15,000 students per year at locations worldwide.
The Learning Management Services (LMS) contract affords the NGA College the ability to offer quality educational and training services to the NGA, Department of Defense and other Intelligence Community professionals. KZO Government Group, working in concert with the rest of the LMS team, will collaborate to provide next-generation online educational content. The goal will be to reduce cost and increase training options by embracing distributed and distance learning. Much of the instructional basics can be completed at greatly reduced cost prior to continuing portions of the advanced training using more traditional on-site, classroom instruction. The LMS efforts will be primarily based in the greater Washington, D.C. area and St. Louis, Missouri. The contract term is five years.
Phil Cruver, President of KZO Government stated, “There is an exploding demand for compelling, media-rich digital training content in federal government markets particularly for the security sector” and “KZO Government Group was formed to meet this demand.”
The prime contractor for this project, Lockheed Martin, is one of the leading technology corporations in the world, with more than 135,000 employees worldwide. Headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, Lockheed Martin is primarily engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture and integration of advanced technology systems, products and services.
